Work Schedule: Standard Business Hours M-F 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. plus overtime as needed.

General Description
This position is responsible for the timely analysis of bill of materials, engineering prints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products and projects.

Principle Responsibilities
• Conduct timely execution of estimates based on business needs.
• Research, compile and record cost data maintaining accurate information for effective analysis.
• Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for purchasing, planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors and determining cost effectiveness.
• Identify desired profit margin along with fixed and variable costs, provide product options based on price target and adjust quotes accordingly.
• Foster effective communication with Sales personnel to identify customer expectations and requirements. Work directly with customers as needed.
• Work with Engineering and Tooling to determine internal and external costs. Identify the manufacturing process to determine the cost of each phase.
• Notify designated personnel when out of the office or when more coverage is needed to ensure timely execution of estimates.
• Limited travel to customer and tradeshows may be required.
• Maintain and document Estimating processes and process improvements.
• Be an effective team-player; work cross-functionally with all MDI departments.

• All other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Work Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.

Computer Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Knowledge of Lotus and Mac-Pac software a plus.

• Valid Driver’s License
